Salmon flies are here on the Henry’s Fork. The last two nights they have been crawling and last night there were a ton flying. Tuesday night a couple friends and I floated the Ora to Vernon stretch and all managed to catch a few fish, the biggest being a 23″ brown (not caught by me). I managed a couple decent rainbows and a bunch of huge whitefish as well. Last night is when the bugs really started crawling. I fished in the Warm River to Ashton stretch and bugs were everywhere! I started with a salmon fly dry dropping a rubber legs and managed on white fish on the nymph. After no luck for a little while I switch to a double rubber leg rig and hooked up quite quickly. I ended up catching six or so nice fat fish, the biggest being a 19″ brown. Unfortunately the weather has taken a turn for the worse today, but it should be back on again tomorrow!
