I went and fished the annual circus up at Henry’s lake for the opener this past weekend and had a great time. I worked from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM so I didn’t make up to the lake and into the water until 7:30! Despite showing up so late I managed to rope quite a few fish. I started out throwing an egg under an indicator dropping a midge but I kept snagging fish that were swimming into my flies. Its not that much fun foul hooking fish so I switched it up and put on an olive leech. Slowly stripping it along the bottom was deadly. I ended up bringing in 30 fish or so, the biggest around 23″. I fished into the dark and by the end I had the whole lake to myself 🙂
